Brian Lane,
manager of Brooks-Jeffrey Computer Store, attended the Microsoft TechNet conference
in Little Rock June 28. Topics included Windows Vista, a new operating system
with tools for improved stability and reliability, Forefront Security, Microsoft’s
full line of business security products, and Windows 2008, still in testing.
With Forefront Security, Lane said, Microsoft
is offering antivirus and spyware protection at a corporate level.
“All these features can be managed from a Windows server,” he said,
“rolled out to clients, and monitored from one location.”
Concerning Windows 2008, Lane said “a huge emphasis”
on security and stability has been put into the design of this server
operating system.
